Let’s cut to the chase. The November 2012 elections will be unlike anything that any of us can remember. It is not just that this will be a close election. It is also not just that the direction of Congress hangs in the balance. Rather, this will be one of the most polarized and critical elections in recent history.
Unfortunately what too few leftists and progressives have been prepared to accept is that the polarization is to a great extent centered on a revenge-seeking white supremacy; on race and the racial implications of the moves to the right in the US political system. It is also focused on a re-subjugation of women, harsh burdens on youth and the elderly, increased war dangers, and reaction all along the line for labor and the working class. No one on the left with any good sense should remain indifferent or stand idly by in the critical need to defeat Republicans this year.

This article does a fair job of Making the case for Obama and outlining the strategy of the right. As a conspiracy theorist at heart (and all explanations are conspiracy theories of one sort or another) I would add the following. The disaster that was GWBs monarchy (he was never elected)was if not deliberate at least played well into the long term plan. McCain was never to win the presidency else why would he have chosen Palin. A Black man in the White House fueled white reaction as the article lays out. The country continues in chaos and radicalization. Obama will win this election and all Hell will break loose among whites fearing complete loss of their supremacy. The country will run almost out of control. The key election is 2016 which the Right will win one way or another. By 2020 USA will be a theocratic one party state and the security apparatus slowly built up since 911 will be used to control the masses and keep it that way. Afghanistan under the Taliban will seem positively liberal in comparison.

Obamacare is Romneycare (requiring people to buy insurance from (evil) private insurance companies). Bush was not charged with war crimes by Obama, and won't be charged by Romney either. The war will continue in Afghanistan no matter who is elected. We will not get our Constitution back, nor see the police state rolled back, no matter who is elected. We aren't going to see our jobs come back from overseas no matter which candidate wins. While it's true that Obama will probably not try to privatize Social Security, or give the rich additional tax breaks, the Democrats need to be taught (yet again) that progressives can make or break them. It's painful for everyone, but donkeys are a slow learners. Fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice, shame on us.
