Report on Rebuiding the Left: Reflections from the Waffle
Below is a summary from the Rebuilding the Left conference held on January 30 in Regina. Participants will be receiving further information by the end of the month.
Though there is more material to come by the end of March 2010, apparently, my fondest hope is that it include the basis for a drive to a new socialist organization, aiming for political power in whatever form and by whatever avenue it may decide. The lack of an organization has been a considerable failure of the left, of socialists. My one hesitation is the lack of experience in sufficient numbers behind a drive like this, but I'd rather see inexperienced, motivated people do it than have no action at all.
