The human values characteristic of a living ...Alas. The human values characteristic of a living community and a sincere, vibrant and truly democratic organization have suffered another sad wound. Although it appears to me that the inflated salaries and ventures into doughnut shops indicate that the lure of material wealth started to erode the humanity of this organization years ago. Of course the majority of analysts have approved the sale. Their measuring tools all use the wealth yardstick. Community, democracy and humanity are not part of their equation. <br /><br />As an american, I am saddened by the very real influence our shameless affluence and its media dance has had on the world. To see the betrayal of our empty materialistic promises, just look at our own poor masses and dying rivers.
