The center-left is now so badly split that the right, with one party and one voice is virtually guaranteed to control government for a long time.<br /><br />Trust me, you do NOT want proportional vote. We have it in Ukraine. The Party makes the list and those at the top are virtually guaranteed seats. Voters have no way of unseating anyone. There are over 30 parties, most just a reflection of their leader's ego. Some are started by existing parties to take votes away from their opposition. Once the election is over, the parties form coalitions, with the small parties selling out to the highest bidder.<br />I would prefer a simple run off vote and a final vote where no candidate secured more than 50%.
